Accessibility Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-02

Almanacstats LLC is committed to making the Almanacstats Platform usable for the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. This Policy describes the standard we aim for, the steps we take to reach it, and how to give us feedback when something does not work for you.

1. The standard we aim for

We build and audit the Platform against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium. This is the standard referenced by:

  • Directive (EU) 2019/882 — the European Accessibility Act, transposed into Croatian law by the Act on Accessibility of Products and Services for Persons with Disabilities (NN 17/2023);
  • Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public-sector bodies, applied here voluntarily as a baseline;
  • the EN 301 549 V3.2.1 harmonised standard;
  • Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act, where it applies to our public-sector partners.

2. What this means in practice

We aim to:

  • present information in a logical heading and landmark structure that screen readers can navigate;
  • provide text alternatives for non-text content (images, charts, icons);
  • ensure colour contrast of at least 4.5 : 1 for body text and 3 : 1 for large text;
  • allow keyboard-only operation of every interactive element, with a visible focus indicator;
  • avoid time-limited content where possible, and provide pause / resume controls for live tickers;
  • support browser-level zoom up to 200 % without loss of content or function;
  • announce dynamic updates (score changes, live stats) through ARIA-live regions in a way that is not overwhelming.

For mobile apps we follow the platform accessibility guidelines published by Apple (iOS) and Google (Android), including VoiceOver and TalkBack support, dynamic text size, and reduced-motion preferences.

3. What is not yet fully compliant

We disclose the following known gaps and work to close them:

  • complex tactical infographics (heat maps, shot maps) are not fully equivalent in text form yet; we provide a textual fallback per match;
  • some legacy news article images carry generic alt text — these are being updated under a rolling editorial review;
  • a small number of third-party advertising creatives that we embed do not meet AA contrast; we are in dialogue with our ad partners.

The list is updated in line with our internal accessibility audit cadence.

4. Tell us when something is broken

If you encounter content or functionality that is not accessible to you, please write to us at [email protected] with:

  • the page or screen affected;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • the assistive technology you use (screen reader, switch device, etc.);
  • the browser or device.

We will acknowledge your message within 5 working days and target a substantive response within 30 days.

5. Enforcement procedure

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority:

  • in Croatia — Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities (Pravobranitelj za osobe s invaliditetom);
  • in other EU Member States — your national equality body or accessibility regulator;
  • in the United States — the Department of Justice civil-rights division;
  • in the United Kingdom — the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

6. Updates

This Policy is reviewed annually and after any major architectural change to the Platform. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent review.
